Privacy Policy
Your numbers stay on your phone.
Last updated October 9, 2026
Practical Oilfield Calculator has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. Your wellbores and saved jobs never come to us. The only thing the app sends anywhere is what it needs to check a subscription.
What stays on your phone
- Wellbores you save, and the pipe in them.
- Jobs you save: the inputs and the results.
- Your settings, like language and feet or meters.
- How many of the free calculations you've used. This is kept in the phone's Keychain so it carries over if the app is deleted and installed again.
We never receive any of this. The app doesn't sync it to iCloud. It is included in your phone's regular iCloud or computer backup, the same as other app data, and comes back when you restore one.
Subscriptions
Purchases go through Apple. We never see your name, your Apple Account, or how you pay.
To tell whether a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that handles in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat receives:
- A random ID the app makes on your phone. It isn't tied to your name or email.
- Your purchase and subscription history for this app.
- Basic technical details, like the app version, iOS version, language and country, and your IP address.
RevenueCat uses this only to provide that service. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.
Sharing a result
When you share a result, the image goes wherever you send it, like Messages or email. We don't get a copy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent data.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- The app doesn't use your location, contacts, camera, or photos.
Children
The app is made for oilfield work and isn't meant for children under 13.
Deleting your data
Delete wellbores and saved jobs in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored except the free-calculation count. For questions about the subscription record RevenueCat keeps, email us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date.
